He has edited Professional Photographer, Photography Monthly, and Turning Pro magazines in the UK and is now a freelance photographer and senior lecturer on the Editorial and Advertising Photography BA Hons degree course at the University of Gloucestershire. His photography monographs include, At Home with the Makers of Style, Thames & Hudson, 2006 and Crash Happy, Café Royal Books, 2014 and his work is held in the permanent collections at MOMA, New York, Tate, London, Victoria & Albert Museum, London and the British Library.
