
Saturday 19th March saw our first event in collaboration with Van Arts: Vancouver Institute of Media Arts, Canada. The event titled Photography: A Visual Language was curated, hosted and promoted by UNP founder and curator Grant Scott through and was held at the Natural History Museum, London in front of a sell out audience of over two hundred.
The day was broken down into six individual talks focusing on conversation surrounding the areas of music, portrait, landscape, social documentary, fashion and commissioned photography. Those involved included award winning and highly respected photographers such as Danny North, Tom Oldham, Roger Sargent, Marc Wilson, Brian David Stevens, Matthew Murray, Harry Borden, Chris Floyd, Jenny Lewis, Laura Hynd, Tom Pilston, Antonio Olmos, Chris Moore, Mitchell Sams and Jonathan Gregson. As well as the ex art director of Vogue, Glamour and Ellemagazines, Geoff Waring and International Art Director for Conde Nast, Fiona Hayes.
The talks were hosted by X radio DJ John Kennedy, Senior Lecturer Dr.Sharon Harper, Ian McGuffie Head of Photography at Van Arts, Nilgin Yusuf Head of the Fashion Production MA at The London College of Fashion and Grant Scott.
It proved to be an inspiring day filled with personal anecdotes, humour, invaluable insight and inspiring conversation enjoyed by current students, graduates and the wider London photographic community and industry.
